ABOUT ME
Unveiling the Writer
I've always been a story-teller.
At first, it was how I coped with a shitty up-bringing. I'd disassociate and create different worlds, and stories in my mind. Silently. Forever thinking of better places than the one I was born into. I liked to read too--it had the same effect. Then, sometimes it didn't. Sometimes there was nothing better than the escape in my mind.
My first experience was writing was in grade five. There, my teacher would give every student a single paper and give us a prompt. However, I was never satisfied with a single paper. I always asked for more and more, allowing the story to write itself with my pencil as it's vessel. Eventually, my teacher told my father that it had to stop.
"She can't keep writing more than one page. It's too much."
I knew two things in that moment:
1. I had a problem with authority figures.
2. I would grow up and become a writer.
When I was fifteen, I started turning my stories into things to share on Wattpad. I've never stopped. Until 2023 that I realized the only thing holding me back from doing more was myself. Why was I waiting for the universe to notice me when I could demand it's attention? Our limits are only as high as we set them.
So I'll keep writing and sharing until I can no longer do my life such luxury.
